OVHcloud egress: free since 1 January 2026, no bound published
At the start of 2026, OVHcloud removed egress fees from Object Storage. The product notice is short and worth quoting whole: “No more egress fees on OVHcloud Object Storage as of 1/1/26. No hidden costs: free API calls, internal traffic, and outgoing traffic.” What makes this notable among the free-egress providers is what the notice leaves out: unlike Wasabi and Impossible Cloud, no stored-volume bound is published on the zero.
What the notice covers
| Item | Published price |
|---|---|
| Egress (outgoing traffic) | Free, any volume |
| API calls | Free |
| Internal traffic | Free |
| Stored-volume bound on the free egress | None published |

Because nothing is metered, unit arithmetic does not change the bill: 1 TB or 100 TB of monthly egress from OVHcloud Object Storage carries the same published egress cost, zero. The rest of the bill is storage and, depending on product class, retrieval behaviour, which sit outside this page's scope.
The three flavours of “free egress”
| Model | Providers | The catch, as published |
|---|---|---|
| Zero, no bound | OVHcloud, Cloudflare R2 | R2 meters read operations ($0.36 per million Class B on Standard). OVHcloud's notice says API calls are free too. |
| Zero, policy-bounded | Wasabi, Impossible Cloud | Free egress up to roughly 1x stored volume; no price exists above the bound, only policy. |
| Allowance, then priced | Backblaze B2, DO Spaces | Free to an allowance (3x storage for B2, 1,024 GiB for Spaces), then a published cent per unit. |

Run your own numbers
Put a large volume through the calculator and watch which zeros survive it: OVHcloud's holds at any entry, the policy-bounded zeros flip to not priced once egress passes stored volume.

Does OVHcloud charge egress fees on Object Storage?
No. The OVHcloud US Object Storage page states: 'No more egress fees on OVHcloud Object Storage as of 1/1/26. No hidden costs: free API calls, internal traffic, and outgoing traffic.' Egress is free at every volume on this product.
Is OVHcloud's free egress bounded by stored volume like Wasabi's?
Not in what is published. Wasabi and Impossible Cloud both publish a fair-use bound of roughly 1x stored volume on their free egress. OVHcloud's product notice publishes no stored-volume bound. On published terms, OVHcloud's model is closer to Cloudflare R2's unconditional zero than to the policy-bounded zeros.
How does OVHcloud compare with Cloudflare R2 for egress-heavy workloads?
Both publish free egress with no volume cap. The difference sits elsewhere in the bill: R2 meters read operations (Class B at $0.36 per million on Standard storage), so heavy read traffic still costs something on R2. OVHcloud's notice says API calls are free as well. As always, compare the storage rates and the operation charges for your access pattern, not just the egress line.
